This Privacy Policy explains how Arthro Diagnostics processes personal data when you use the Arthro Diagnostics application. If your clinic or organization is the data controller, this policy describes our processing as a service provider/processor as well.

1) What data we process
Depending on how the App is used, we may process:
- Account information (name, email, clinic/organization, phone, address, login identifiers).
- Operational data you enter into the App (e.g., horse details, owner details, samples, joint/leg information, EAN/barcode numbers, notes, and related metadata).
- Technical data (device information, app version, IP address, logs needed to secure and operate the service).
2) Why we process your data
- To create and manage user accounts and authenticate access.
- To provide core functionality (register, list, and manage horses, owners, and samples).
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
- To comply with legal obligations and handle requests from users and clinics.
3) Legal basis (EEA/UK)
Where applicable, we process data based on one or more of the following:
- Contract: providing the App and requested services.
- Legitimate interests: operating, securing, and improving the App.
- Legal obligation: compliance with applicable laws.
- Consent: where we explicitly ask for it (rare for core app features).
4) Sharing and processors
We may share data with trusted service providers that help us run the App (e.g., hosting and infrastructure). We do not sell personal data. Data may be shared with your clinic/organization administrators to manage accounts and operational workflows.
5) International transfers
If data is transferred outside your country/region, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses) when required.
6) Retention
We keep data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by law. Clinics may define retention periods for operational records. When accounts are deleted, we delete or anonymize data unless retention is required.
7) Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Data portability (where applicable).
- Withdraw consent (if processing is based on consent).
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
8) Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect data (e.g., access controls, encryption in transit where supported, and audit logging). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9) Children
The App is not intended for children and should not be used by minors without appropriate authorization.
10) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify users in the App.
